Hi!  That seems like a simple enough way to start.  I’m Christiana.  Like many of us, I juggle many roles in life:  wife, mother, teacher, student, side gig hustler.  I’m not unique in that I do a lot.  Many of us are stretched a little thin and hanging on a thread.

When the days are long and you haven’t had a chance to see your husband for more than a few hours, life is hard.  My husband is an amazing man who picks up the pieces I can’t get to when I am working.  I’m a music teacher with a competitive marching band.  Fall season is both football games and competitions.  We have rehearsals three times a week.  It is wearing on everyone and like many music teachers who are also parents, we worry about the time spent away from our own children to teach and enrich our students’ lives. This is my search for balance.

Another important facet to me is my introverted personality.  Given a lot of recent reading, there is now a sub-category that characterizes extroverted introverts.  I fall within this range.  If I am in a situation where I am comfortable, I am exuberant and loud.  If it is a new situation for me–venue, experience, people–I am content to stand in the background and just observe.  However, my observations are often mistook for disinterest and having a horrible time.  This is not always the case, but I get overstimulated in new situations quickly.  Sometimes, this even happens in preparation for family events.  Once I’m there, I’m fine. Getting there is the hard part.  So, I’m just sharing and learning one sip of coffee at a time.
